Seeing as how Israel has no more qualms about firing missiles into civilian neighborhoods than Hamas does, the “dome” on the right is grossly mislabeled.
A note: Gaza is about the same size as the island of Manhattan, and housing is about as densely packed as the buildings there. They just showed an Israeli tank firing into the HOME an apartment in a multi-story building, of a “suspected militant”. The reporter didn’t note it was obvious the second shell went through the whole building and into thee next.
Also, haven’t seen anyone pointing out that for several decades now, due to Israeli control or occupation of Gaza, those notorious tunnels are also the only way Gaza folks can get food and other critical supplies into their area, due to blockades that stop a lot more than “weapons”.
Hamas tactics suck and are wrong, true, but ISRAEL is, and has long been, just as obscenely wrong. Just look at the fatality figures, and compare. Hundreds of dead compared to one, (Israel announced a “friendly fire” death today, obviously the fault of the Hamas folks), and thousands of wounded compared to less than 30.
Varney: for many years those tunnels have been dug, to bring FOOD and MEDICINE into Gaza, not go out for “attacks” as the news today’s been reporting. The same is true of tunnels into Egypt, not just into Israel.
