I had a cat who played on her own by chasing a small ball. I thought I could improve the game by throwing it for her. She brought it back and I was amazed. She brought it halfway back and I thought she didn’t understand. She brought it a quarter of the way back and I thought I didn’t understand. She brought it one-eighth of the way back … I finally realized she was teaching me to fetch and she thought it was hilarious.
For all the fany toys we’ve tried, our new kitten’s favorite is a crumpled sticky-note. (She has since graduated to a crumpled note-book sheet she stole from my office waste can)
