In bizarro world, a "joyful recession" makes as much sense as a "jobless recovery" does here.
Woman: Wages are skyrocketing. Jobs are plentiful. Stores are packed. Yet the economy is in big trouble.
Man: Loon. a. tick
the Republic enforces a 3 day work week, at a living wage! Peace breaks out and the troops come home! the nation has capital for industrial development! The U.S. leads world in peaceful works! Mass driver/sub zero mag/lev trains with free transportation for freight and passengers! The 4th National Bank of the U.S. is formed based upon GOLD. God allows the US to nationalize oil, and banks. Political Ads are $2.00 each allowing all to run for office, FCC awakes f/5 decades of “sleep”! Foreign ownership of media is outlawed!
A nice fantasy. Too bad in the US government policy is to hold down wages and keep unemployment (along with worker insecurity) at a certain level so as to ensure profits for investors. The fact that most in the investor class are already affluent means nothing to the Money Party except continued largesse.
HOWGOZIT, if I recall correctly, Molly Ivins once said that 250,000 new jobs are needed every month. Obviously, that was awhile ago. 95,000 … it’s a start, better than nothing, especially for those 95,000 and their families.
HOW - Once again you did not answer the question, all you did was attack.
It seems simple, Obama is President, if anything goes wrong you scream about how it’s his fault because he is responsible because he is President.
Bush was President for 8 years, and the GOP was in charge for most of those year, much went wrong (terrorist attacked us, the national debt tripled, the economy tanked) yet you say that not only shouldn’t we blame Bush & the GOP, but that we should put them back into power.
annamargaret1866, that’s not cynicism, that’s the truth. Do some research on the Federal Reserve Bank. Alan Greenspan stated (at least) once that ‘worker insecurity’ was vital to keeping wages down and investors’ returns up.
HI HOW– Once again WHY? If you want the GOP back, it would be nice if you could explain it to us why.
I can tell why I don’t want them back. I look at what they did between 2000 and 2008, and can honestly say: These people suck, they made every problem we had worse, and created some new ones that we still can’t fix, and have proven that they don’t care about the country, that all they want to do is make sure Obama and the DEMS fail.

jaxaction I wonder if all of that is already occurring in Canada. Some say it’s the next best thing besides Paradise.

HOW - Once again my questions that you never answer:
If the GOP was in power for the last 8 years how come none of this is their fault?
With all of what the did in the last 8 years, why vote the GOP back into power?
