Yeah…and now they look so 20th century.

The ombre look is much more 2014…especially with some raspberry and coal black.

    What?

Ah, yes, Goofus and Gallant.I had a science question answered in the magazine once. Something about how do flying fish breathe out of the water.

If you can’t find the basketball hoop you’re a lousy basketball player.

It’s never anything nearly as complicated as a hamster in the hidden pictures. it’s always a boomerang, or a crescent moon, or a comb (I have the August ’14 issue in my hands as I type this!).

I loved it as a kid, and it is my “go to” Christmas gift for any relative under the age of ten.

As Susan is a hairdresser, she would know the difference between highlights and ombre styles of coloring; I used to have mine frosted (no, not with cake frosting).

And, like Frum, I remember the Weekly Reeder for myself, but I DID get Highlights for my kids (the mag – not the hair coloring).

I remember reading Highlights in the doctors office when I was a kid. Little man has a subscription and loves them.

Highlights got me hooked on picture puzzles. I can’t pick up a Playboy without looking for the hidden bunny on the cover.

When I was in grade school, Catholic, each child received one each month. I can’t remember how long that went o but I know it stopped somewhere around 5th grade maybe? When my kids went there, I had to buy the subscription if I wanted it.
