The only two people I personally know who had any interest in the World Cup were rooting for the Mexican team.

Odd, and on our screens I’ve only heard praise and admiration for the spirit and attitude of the American football fans. Just before their last game against Belgium we even had small reports on how much more popular it is becoming in the US, how well their team have done in the last 3 world cups…

(as for fans who are more likened to Sisiyphus I would suggest the Portuguese fans.)

Sisyphus is more like some video games. Play till you lose: winning’s not a possiblity.

I put people like Jase99 in the same bracket as global warming deniers. It’s pounding on their doors and still say it’s not happening. Very few team sports are as good as soccer in helping the youth be and stay in shape and healthy. Tomorrow we’ll forget about the World Cup for another four years, in the mean time let us teach our girls and boys how to be a team player, how to be healthy competitive and to congratulate every one for a game well played. A more positive attitude is needed.
