With books and magazines you don’t need batteries or have to plug them in, no need to re-boot or update, they’re portable and can be used as fly swatters or to prop up table legs among other uses…… Plus, I just plain like the feel of a book in my hands.

Sal ought to be ripped up. All those who do this should be made to pay the price of the book before they enter the store. They are choking good literature – worse, they are encouraging any ass to write any kind of bilge and get it read because it is cheap.

really really if you go in the store and want the book buy it. I never found a deal good enough to offset the shipping cost. Now I am saying I don’t shop amazon I do for stuff the locals won’t or can’t carry. "And I will punch the walmart exec in the face who came up with the tag line “If don’t have you must not need it.” @*##! Walmart

I really really love my books and am at the library several times a week, but e-books are handy when you are travelling.

I love my paper books, some I have never been able to find for my Kindle Fire HDX. That said I have discovered a lot of advantages to the Kindle, it being a small tablet. Just a fer instance, I can carry both translations of the Bible I use, plus some good SF for when I am waiting somewhere all in one small package. There is a place for both my lovely paper, and flexible electronics in this world.

I’m one of those guys who will buy a book I like in Hardcover for my library, and as an eBook so I can load it on my Kindle for portability!

I mostly use e-books because I can make the font HUGE on a reader, alas my paper books are too hard to read now 8(

Hey, Sal is one of my favorite characters. Yes, he’s a jerk but maybe he acts that way is how Rita treats him. He’s an old guy and it seems like no one has in interest in him. Maybe he’s a guy that has to work there, feels bad about it, because no one else would want him. Now, Melvin, HE’S A REAL BONA-FIDE JERK!! He’s the epitome of the ideal male pig. If Melvin treats the women with respect, they will treat both Sal an Melvin better. But then again, this a comic strip. Failure & Frustration is hilarous than Success & Satisfaction in a comic striip.

One more thing, why spend a ton of money going to Amazon & paying a bunch of handling charges before you buy the book? It’s like test driving a new car before you buy it.
