How about the H1N1 coffee cup! Of the dozen or so comics I read here, this one and Calvin are the best ever.

After feeding birds for twenty years, we had to give it up because the squirrels got it all before the birds did. Now the neighborhood is overrun with those destructive varmints.

my bird feeder is a wooden ‘table’ about 2’x3’ on top of a 5’ metal pole—squirrelies can’t climb it.

If it wasn’t for the birds and squirrels (and the turkeys and the deer and other 4-legged things), my back yard wouldn’t get any use at all. Other than the holes the woodpeckers keep making in my chimney, and the holes the burrowing things make in they yard, I really don’t mind. Always a pleasant surprise to glance up from the newspaper/TV/computer, and see visitors out the window. Just had a half-dozen deer cleaning up the spillage around the birdfeeders hung on poles off the deck railings. (Mostly squirrel-proof, but they keep trying.)

If I tried to tell you how many bird feeders we have had, and really ingenious ones, you wouldn’t believe me. The squirrels would finally figure out the secret and then we’d start again.
