Any “mass disaster” is sad, and unfortunate, but: Every 2-3 days in the U.S. we kill more people on our roads, than in aircraft crashes, world-wide-annually. The worst “air disaster” in history, was only a week’s worth of our highway death toll.
Not clear yet what caused this one to go down, but airplanes are still safer than cars. So take wing, Toaster, and enjoy.

I’ve never been on a plane in my life. I am terrified of flying.

See, I understand that, dtroutma. It’s logical.
Unfortunately, all it does for me is make me afraid of planes AND cars.
Maybe I’ll just travel by train. Or jetpack.
