And how many taken during the Bush years did nothing, but after being tortured, ’er excuse me, having “enhanced techniques” used on them, got home and became jihadist and suicide bombers?

When our little note-writing deserter, I had no sympathy for him, just like a certain NG who deserted, but we don’t leave ours behind. Take note in fact of how many have died, rather often, going so far as being determined to recover the dead, and creating more.

There’s more at work here than on the surface, and NOT telling our blabbermouth morons on the right in Congress, or even Feinstein, may not be so dumb. For example, I wouldn’t let Issa know the proposed actions of a janitor in the House Office Building.

If the five guys sitting in Gitmo for years represent our nations security then we have a different concern to address.

It’s an allegory about the boy who traded a cow for a magic bean. Obama traded 5 Taliban VIP’s for 1 deserting soldier. 5 guys died trying to find him and bring him home after he abandoned his post and went AWOL, and now we are trading 5 terrorists for 1 deserter. I feel bad for the families of those who died trying to find that worthless sack of crap.

Republicans in Congress, including McCain, were ready to trade Bergdahl for the five Taliban members. GOP cheerleaders were all praying for the return of Bergdahl by any means necessary (their words) including the swap. A GOP candidate had a Facebook message up thanking God for his safe return — and 25 minutes later, she got the memo and took it down.

The first commandment of the GOP: hate anything Obama does, even if you were begging for it five minutes ago.

We don’t hate everything Obama does. Just the stupid things……….oh wait; I guess that is everything.

Bush traded 500! Remember a thing called “Iran-Contra” where we gave weapons the US Army was short of to Iran? We have always gotten our soldiers back, now we decide what to do with him. These folks were the Gov’t of Afghanistan, what gives us the right to kidnap or hold members of a legal Gov’t for years and not charge them with anything? If your educated remember the “Star Courts” of England.

Please give it up. Bush is truly responsible for what happened when he was in the White House. It doesn’t go away just because he changed residences and started painting his feet in the bathtub.

Put it another way: are you going to stop blaming Obama for anything that happened between 2009 and 2017, and start blaming it all on President Gingrich (lord help us)?

No, the bad that Obama does will still be his responsibility after he leaves office. Please try to learn from this. Otherwise, you’ll soon be blaming Angela Merkel for the Holocaust.

I did. I am well familiar with your mental clarity regarding how Mr. Reagan supported terrorists. I fully agree with your assessment.

My post had nothing to do with that, however.

^^Harley, Jonathon Pollard is in prison for spying on the U.S., for ISRAEL, who sold our secrets to CHINA! Israel under Likud is FAR MORE DANGEROUS to our security, and troops, than these five prisoners, period. Which, if not for defending Israel, what WOULD we be doing with our noses, and troops, constantly stuck into the region?

Once again, I hear you. Once again, I agree whole-heartedly.

However, my original post was based on the fact that Harleyquinn seems to believe that nothing can be Mr. Bush’s fault because he no longer occupies the White House.

Reagan gave bin Ladin bullets. That was his legacy. Didn’t stop when Poppy Bush became president. Poppy Bush did nothing about bin Ladin. That’s part of HIS legacy. Mr. Clinton, same thing. The Shrubster had several dire warnings, but he had brush to clear, and he already had accomplished his goal of becoming president. He had no desire, nor capacity, to actually BE president, and I strongly believe he thought being president was going to be a long string of state dinners and fancy travel and reading My Pet Goat. When it came time to actually act presidential, he was clueless and trusted the wrong people. That is his legacy, and will be until Texas re-writes the history books.

reminded Lester that….“Didn’t he then plant that bean and it grew into a large bean stalk.which he climbed and slayed a giant and saved the village or something like that.”

Yeah, or something like that … ;-)Lol! You are, of course, absolutely correct. I somehow doubt Lester is saying the apparently poor barter will result in terrorism being slain. He isn’t that perceptive. Check his personal reply to his critics on May 30th’s cartoon.
