Imagine if these big-pharmacy vultures had been in control back in 1957 when Jonas Salk’s polio vaccine was introduced. They’d have watered it down and required everybody to get a high-dollar booster shot twice a year.

I wish the doctors would pay more attention to the individual than the latest fad “study”. .Look at my labs—I don’t fit the profile of this so-called research.

For 15 years, my doctor was a 5 foot 2, eyes of blue, beautiful woman. Prostate exams didn’t seem that bad…She even brought in a nurse, just to keep things on the up and up. Again, no complaints from me….

Waiting for the headline that announces studies have shown that not being on some prescription medication is a new syndrome proven to be eventually fatal in all cases.

Doctors don’t get much pharmacological training. They have to rely on what drug companies tell them.

My cholesterol is 223. It has always been high. My very slim older daughter’s is naturally high as well. I allowed my doc to put me on Lipitor. In the 2 months that I was on it my numbers dropped to 128. My glucose however, that was NEVER an issue, rose to 110. I immediately stopped the Lipitor. Yes, my cholesterol is back up to being high, but I do not have to worry about becoming diabetic. Some people just have naturally high numbers. My Normal temperature is 97.2. So at the “normal” temp of 98.6 I am actually running a slight fever.

Eventually, more people will realize that the key to decent health is avoiding doctors altogether, especially those who practice “defensive medicine.” They order every test they can (which costs them nothing, and in some cases makes them extra $ from the labs) so that they cannot be sued for missing something that might or might not have been obvious.

And we don’t need all those stinkin’ pills!

Maybe if we would stop watching the TV, watching all those repeating ads which say to us, “You feel…”, we would feel better. When people hear something over and over, they begin to believe, regardless of truth.

Medical science has progressed to the point where we now have a cure for which there is no known disease!

Big Pharm is always striving to develop a cure for which there is no known disease after their huge success with LDS (Limp Dick Syndrome).

Being home all day I keep the TV on for background noise, and the noise I get most, far and away, is pharmaceutical ads. Smarmy ads often in tones formerly reserved for undertakers and followed by a list of side-effects that are more terrifying than the condition they are purposed to mitigate. The only thing I can think is the ENORMOUS amount of money this industry has.

Yes, I can testify to that; 150%!! We could do without of them and go back to herbals…that many of my family still use.

Speaking of scary side effects, our family has enjoyed watching the old SNL routine, “Happy Fun Ball.” Here’s a passable version:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8zOtZlO52k&list=PLRD2jcKdhMDZ7Ktr3dQU-MqtDZdgxBOP5

… all these cynical comments are dead on. Sadly – it will all continue as they develop treatments (not cures) for diseases that they will try to convince you that you have! I know – I worked for on of the big pharma scam artists. Not anymore.

Ever read Plato’s “Republic”? He argues that medical care should be only for acute, temporary issues such as injuries. Long-term medical treatment of chronic illness is a drain on society for people who will never be fully “well”, and only maintains them in their suffering…Plato thought that it was kinder to let the chronically ill die and be done with it. Think of that as the flip side of today’s strip.

Right now, I’m at that stage where all the Docs can do is tell me a) You still got it, or b) it’s getting worse or c) it’s about the same. The one real positive is I know for sure what to avoid.

My late father, who was a physician, used to say that his favorite investments were pharmaceutical companies, because they were the most ruthless about getting their money.
