“Bennett is wrong on this one.”.Wrong again tigger. Bennett is pointing out the NRA prescription to the problem. Elliott Rodger took the prescription, used one of his three guns and made use of the bullets..Truly, he no longer is stressed or bothered by anything here on earth.
A friend, and retired state patrolman committed suicide, with a gun, yesterday. Nobody knows yet why, but the pill bottle could list a few more conditions.
I still maintain Bennett makes a good point, although I did not mean to infer that this ’toon refers to every gun owner. There are a number of people who DO take this prescription, and may not even own a gun when they take it, but soon will. It is a sign about how some in our (or any) society will go to an extreme to deal with his anger.
By the way, I DO own a gun. See Phil Hands May 30 ’toon, my second comment to Tigger, near the end.
Trusted Mechanic, as usual I totally agree with you. The number of guns used for self defense each year is not one tenth of a percent of those which kill people by accident or suicide. My husband bought a shotgun one time and taught me how to use it because he was going out of town. As soon as he was gone, I put it in the attic (and our attic is hard to get into). It stayed there for a long time.
Anyone who has had a 1000 round day will concur that it is quite therapeutic. It’s a shame that society today teaches young people that guns are for killing people.

A question for those who don’t believe that we need better gun control: let’s leave guns out of it, what do we do to lower the homicide rate?

Your comment makes a lot of sense. Inequality is an important factor, and also the alienation from society that often comes from inequality.

Another great one, Bennett.
