For each soldier they remove from Haiti, they could feed x amount of Haitian citizens for months and US citizens.
Have the out of work Haitians do some policeing there, it will do them good, give them something to do, ways to help and rebuild . Haitian citizens need to learn to work together and come together, espescially in situations such as these. Im for helping them also.
scottfreitas: “unChristian Haitians” - are you seriously suggesting that being Christian is somehow necessary or relevant to serving in a police or military unit? And you’re accusing others of being naive?
@goulo - I somehow get the feeling that scottfreitas follows Pat Robertson’s line of delusional “reasoning,” that the Haitians brought this upon themselves by making a deal with the devil. But that’s to be expected by someone who redefines reality when he doesn’t like it. Christians, as we all know from history, are never ever ever ever violent or undisciplined.
The propaganda parrot is back with the added feature of the racist nonsense currently being fed to him by his puppetmasters. How dare the president of Honduras increase the minimum wage? Now, Scott the traitor advocates armed revolution because he disagrees with policies which are not substantially different than those of the Bush Administration. He adds the false canard about disorder in Haiti and implies the people of Haiti are little more than savages. Your true nature is showing. You are an ignorant, bigoted fool. If I were a superstitious fool like you, and believed in an imaginary father (of course, he’s male) in the sky, I’d say thank god your kind is rapidly disappearing. Move to Saudi Arabia, will you.
Agreed. Many of you have never been on carriers, nor do you know that they can produce 15K meals a day, plus the medical units aboard. The U.S. armed forces is the only force capable of currently handling, arresting, or “dispatching” the 3000 criminals that have escaped the now destroyed prison, and massively organizing such a relief effort, considering that superstates such as the EU, comprised of 27 Progressive European members, have only donated 3 mil and UN support (pffft!), that and China’s 1 million donation.

The troops were distributing food and water, and providing security so helicopters could land, and so parachute drops didn’t land ON the waiting people.
The best thing for fattening up “primitive people” , and protecting their native cultures, has always been missionary stew.
And yes, this is the American Invasion or “Blue Dawn.”
Weaps of mass destructs, Al(bin)ladin or just disastrous earthquake: any excuse is ok for moving lotsa troops onto foreign soil.
I bet Haïti will make a great US naval and airforce base.
Sen john Mc Cain is offering 16 of his 18 houses for re settlement, I offer the on used gold courses of Palm Springs, CA, no one is using them, they too busy watching the 2nd drive-by on their retirement/401ks, to pay for the cops of the world exercise.
gangster, wow, lots of countries have people there, doing all kinds of things. It was a Dutch crew that found the young man alive in the rubble yesterday (or the day before).
“considering that superstates such as the EU, comprised of 27 Progressive European members, have only donated 3 mil and UN support (pffft!), that and China’s 1 million donation.”
Cpt. Jay, that information is a bit misleading. The 3 million (4.3 in recent figures according to http://tinyurl.com/ybupbkv) is what is coming from the budget of the EU as an organization. The EU states themselves have given more than that (in the area of 175 millions, according to the above article), though I do think that they could have given more.
Figures for China are apparently higher as well, surprisingly they are more than what Japan has given so far. What stood out in a positive way was the 3 million from Ghana
It looks like the Netherlands have indeed given generously to the Haitian relief effort. I will add, however, your comment in part ..”any excuse is ok for moving lotsa troops onto foreign soil. I bet Haïti will make a great US naval and airforce base.”
Are you adding to that dogeared mantra, with all those troops you apparently have no use for? Hmmmmm, how many American troops remain in the Netherlands from WWll?
Comeon, your snide comment is uncalled for.
Haiti being full of Devil Worshippers doesn’t help.
Superstition = ignorance.
Ignorance after 100 years of hand-outs and social aid = character defect(s).
Solution: Pray to the One true Christ, the Son of God (The Promised One) for your salvation and follow His teachings.
Non-solution (something that’ll make things worse in the long run) = Anything that a Marxist-socialist-Lib says.
I would also like to emphasize that they desperately need help…But please do not put conditions on it. And then, after relative stability is restored, it is time to demand some long term changes. They have all the tools necessary in the Obama White House.
Thank you.
I think we each have valid points on this subject. I suppose if I could afford to live in the United States, some of these problems wouldnt bug me as much.
Sending loads of American troops to fly over to Haiti and supply food isn’t really practical, regardless of how little you care about the vastness of American’s military spending budget. Americans can use that cash that is being thrown around to “fly” troops to Haiti. The cost of fuel, the troop count. With so many airplanes coming and going to supply food and supplies, It is a far better solution, though it will have to put to use wisdom, of sending the supplies and food to Haiti via boat from the Florida southeast coastline, and send homeless and jobless Americans along with a few troops, and non deadly weapons to distribute the items gathered. I understand that the government is set to handle situations such as these, yet Im still having a problem with spending loads of cash to American troops while Im in the United States getting robbed by car insurance, living expenses, car cost’s, gas prices, electric, taxes and so on, and neither anybody or nobody cares. Yet Im supposed to call American troops heroes? What for, for looking for a job to pay bills by joining the military. Who cares, your no different from anybody else that is getting charged taxes and is forced to get a job to pay them. So stop robbing me and then expecting me to honor you with reverence. Everyday each and every one of us go through things that could be considered heroic. We each have struggles that we are forced to overcome, though it is only by the grace of God that we are able to do anything.
I actually think deadly bullets should be illegal.(Since you mention , giving guns to random Haitians).
Solution: Rubber Bullets
Bullets that are made of rubber. We should be trained to handle such situations without killing, that is actual skill, tightens the bar by setting it to a precise, accurate degree of utilizing each soldier to the best of a soldiers ability. Individuality.

I think the troops are needed, but so is food.
I like the cannibalist reference. Thinking about all those of Scottfreitas’ kind who see all of Haiti as a voodoo island berely out of the stone age.

The Dutch people alone raised over 80 million Euros for Haïti. So FU with your abysmal “3 mil.”
