First a barnacle who doesn’t know who Obama is and now a jab at Biden. Is Pastis trying to subtly express political views about the administration?

And please note I did not express my political views. I only asked if Pastis was doing so.

Because he named the current vice-president, this strip is dated and cannot be re-run in the future.

Pig’s wide-eyed, innocent anxiety about this really terribly old joke about any “vice”-president is hardly political. It’s directed at the title more than at the man. If some think the man does (or doesn’t) deserve the razzing, that’s not Cartoon-Boy’s issue….

I can tell that THIS will be a perfectly civilized debate…

Back in the 1970’s, the VP was given an official residence, at Number One Observatory Circle. The stated reason was “for security”, but actually it was to keep the VP as far away as practical from the WH. Things got worse in the early 2000’s, necessitating the construction of an “underground bunker” at the residence, which is really used to further isolate and contain the VP when he or she goes on a vice binge!

I don’t really understand how there’s anything to complain about with Biden as VP. Seems to me all he’s done for 6 years is say “Barack’s doing a great job. A really great job. We’re lucky to have him.”.I haven’t even seen him going to a lot of funerals, the usual job of VPs. .Or have I been missing something?

Not that I’m saying that either of the Bushes were great Presidents (though there’s a very recent poll showing W scored more highly than BO in some perceived competence category/ies), just that the fact comics make fun of the President doesn’t mean anything..Remember: even in football, there’s a 10-yard penalty for piling on!

Um, excuse me? I believe Bill Clinton was the first and only President since Ike who wasn’t a multi-millionaire when he was elected. Forget all the cash ex-presidents can reap now for speaking to friendly groups. (So that, if Hillary is elected, she will not be the second.)

Please contain your ranting and bashing to Political parties or individuals rather than general ideologies and philosophies. Many of us believe primarily one with a respect for the other. Liberal/conservative bashing is rude and insulting to those of us embarrassed by the actions of Republicans and Democrats.
