Can’t remember the euphemism they used last night about providing some “technical support”, but the simple fact is, dealing like guys like those in Nigeria IS where spec ops folks are a far better way to go, than bombers. Um… I think Nigeria has a number of very, very rich (and well-connected) people. I’m not sure it counts as a rich country. It’s a libertarian paradise, which means that the government really can’t do anything at all.
The operative phrase there is “no one noticed”. When someone finally did, they were rescued. How that implies that we should ignore a terrible situation that we can help with, at the request of the government where it’s happening? Explain that part to me.

Those drones are very non gender specific. Sending drones in would just kill the people weren’t trying to rescue.
