6.3% unemployment, “underemployed” that is those who can’t get permanent, or have given up, down to 14% from over 17%- not great, but improvement, then there’s that record DOW, and the fact that it’s people, and investment funds, not just government putting money into the market now. Yep, let’s go back to the crash of “W” in ‘08, and poison our future by more deregulation, but then we also know that BP never has any spills, even when Halliburton breaks the rules, and that those two for two losses of Shell oll rigs in the Arctic mean we don’t need to regulate the oil industry at all, right??

Yeah, that’s it. It’s those darned rules. The ones Obama put in, like, ummmmmmmmmm … well, all those rules the GOP didn’t block in the Senate or vote against in the House …. like the Free Trade Agreement … and that rule where you had to move your company overseas and not pay taxes … and the one where you can still pay your employees at 1960s rates …

The US as a whole should be more like Texas, where a lack of job killing environmental regulations only kills the environment, and the lack of job killing oversight only potentially kills people.http://www.salon.com/2014/02/18/texas_toxic_air_major_investigation_reveals_how_unregulated_pollution_from_fracking_is_making_people_sick/http://www.csb.gov/chemical-safety-board-ongoing-investigation-emphasizes-lack-of-protection-for-communities-at-risk-from-ammonium-nitrate-storage-facilities-finds-lack-of-regulation-at-all-levels-of-government-/

What do you need government for? We could all be Cliven Bundy and enjoy the company of sovereign citizens running around with AK47s and checking ID’s.

Texas? The whole US should be like Texas? The Texas where an entire town was destroyed because Texas failed to properly inspect a chemical factory? You want the US to be like that Texas? I don’t think so. Texas is a great place. I almost retired from the military there. Great people. But you know? Some rock dead stupid laws.

Move your company to Texas. We offer a 25% population with no health insurance, the lowest high school graduation rate in the nation, fourth highest teenage pregnancy rate coupled with the fourth highest rate of single women living in poverty.Tesla bring your battery factory here we’re business friendly… although you can’t sell your cars here.

It’s a damn shame. To think of all of the corporate subsidies that could have paid for…

Have we forgotten that the reason we needed a recovery at all was because of the crash created by Bush and his robber barons? The RWNJs here are criticizing the cure for not being effective enough, and ignoring the cause of the disease.

You should try unemployment for a few years. I exhausted my benefits 15 months ago, and am draining my savings rapidly. Seven days a week, (yes, Sunday included) I am on the computer at least twice a day going through Monster.com, Indeed.com, and about 20 other sites of companies at which I would very much like to work. Five to six days, I am on the road visiting industrial & office parks, gathering information, names and tips from receptionists (many of whom are unsympathetic & rude), guys outside the building having a smoke (most of whom ARE sympathetic & helpful). With this info, I write or Email letters to people in these companies, introduce myself, describe my experience, abilities and what I can offer their company. I have gotten a few interviews this way. But, my age does not help me. Few companies want to hire older people, especially when their Human Resource “specialists” are 22-year old girls. When I do sit down at home, I sometimes recall the “passage” (rammed down our throats, actually) of NAFTA, saw first-hand over the years many companies either get bought out, and the new owner shipped operations to Asia or Eastern Europe, and read about how many hundreds, or thousands of American workers lost their livelyhood. I also read (still do) about how corporations lay off thousands, and that the top corporate officers award themselves “retention bonuses”. When Your Saint George W. and his boss, Dick Cheney invaded Iraq, I read and saw on the news how the Antiquities Museum in Baghdad was left unguarded & looted, but the Oil Ministries Building was immediately encircled, taken and secured by our troops.

Our contry & society functioned best with a system of regulated Capitalism, which sought to prevent any special interest group from running away with it all. Since Ronald Reagan made his deal with Wall Street, won the Presidency, the era of de-regulation began, and continued right up through three more presidents. Our volunteer army soldiers are pushed into hellish situations, and must protect the property and interests of Exxon-Mobil, Shell, Conoco, and then when their tour is over, they are forgotten. Last March, over 700 suicides by combat veterans in the U.S.! Yes, OVERTAXED, your Republican heroes are calling all the shots now, and you must be enjoying it. The censors may delete this, but you are an ass-hole.

If America had a single payer system like Canada and the rest of the G7 it might be paying 10.5% of GDP for health care instead of 17.5%. That amounts to around $800B, enough to cover the budget deficit that goes to the 1% instead. Also America might not rank 51st in the world for average life expectancy or 33rd in the world for infant mortality.
