Yes, itdoes, child.it means she is not their first choice but if they aren’t their first choices’ first choice, they’ll settle..It reminds me of the comic strip where the fellow asks the lady, “Will YOU marry me?” Indicating she was not the first asked but that the better choices had rejected him.
