Cuco: Another happy Cinco de Mayo. But what has America really learned from this holiday? Eddie: I don't know. Cuco: Probably how to say "five" in Spanish.
Well, I guess its better to learn one word in Spanish than none LOL Seriously though, its a great day to celebrate Mexican culture like some do on St. Patrick’s Day, for example… ;)
Another word we’ve assimilated, I think, is “cerveza” and some of it’s associated brand names: Tecate, Corona, Dos XX, Sol, Negra Modelo, etc., which is exactly why many beer companies have jumped on the 5 de mayo bandwagon. And as regards this, Bono is not too far off with 1,2,3…14. After the 3rd beer, who’s counting??
Sorry, I quit my day job. I’m new to satire. You’re oblivious to US revolution history, a pattern of defeats and victories, some of each notable in their own way. Our fight, like the Mexican’s was eventually won with outside help & there’s a lot to admire in both revolutions.
You really think that “gringos” know cinco is five? For all I know, they probably think that on May 5, a few years ago, the Mexicans sank a French ship called “La Mayonnaise”, and that is why that day is known as “Sink O’ the Mayo”…
Your comment was snarky re the Mexican revolution and I compared that conflict with our (US) history. Surely, you’re aware that the American public can and does turn national celebrations, indeed any celebration into a drunken party. Enjoy the day…

It was kinda bad planning to defeat whoever so close to Star Wars day. We need to space these things out a bit.
