Cute, but what the Pope was trying to say was that more than condoms will be NEEDED to defeat AIDS. Not that I speak for the Holy Father of Rome, or agree with a great deal of what he says.
I heard something on Kiosque, a talk show from France about the news around the World that was pretty right; Used CORRECTLY, condoms are the next best thing to abstinence BUT in Africa, many people don’t have the means or the education to use them properly. They wash and reuse them and they are often expired.
Condoms may be the answer, but not without education.
WillBerry, I think the pope said more than that. He not only discouraged thinking of condoms as a silver bullet (they aren’t) but discouraged their use entirely. Of course, Roman Catholic doctrine does not allow them because they are form of birth control.
