Mr. Fogarty: "Since you're all seniors, your final essay will be "what high school has meant to me" Delta: "Oooo!" Luann: "Great topic, Mr. Fogarty!" Bernice: "So original!!" Knute: "I can't wait to start!!" Tiffany: "The word "nothing" counts as an essay, right?"

Looks like The Tiff is back to her usual empty-headed self… I’m not sure if I would have liked that assignment myself at that particular time. Move ahead several months and ask: what does going from high school to college (community or otherwise) mean to me? ;)
JayBluE almost 10 years ago
Knute’s shirt is a “one word pony”, but it speaks “louder” than he does…. – Neat trick Fogarty used, there! Getting the students to flash back, themselves, means less money spent by him on having to come up with and set up “flashback sequences”.. More money in the “discretionary fund” for a pizza party for him in the teacher’s lounge…

I wonder what will happen to Miss Phelps? ;)

No, it shouldn’t be a re-run…– The only thing I can think of, is that it was in the actual (physical) newspaper, either from a “goof” in printing, or being on a different schedule than the online posting…
ShagsCA almost 10 years ago
Tiff — if that’s what’s in your head about your high school experience, simply share it. Doesn’t really matter, because you will be spending most of your time developing callouses on your kn
ORMouseworks almost 10 years ago
No, its not a re-run…Clark Kent just had a good guess… ;)
watmiwori almost 10 years ago
In your case, Tiff, it will have to — being your maximum possibleintellectual output.
JayBluE almost 10 years ago
Oh, yeah… Superman did find a way to turn back time in a sequel (probably where Eric Carmen and Cher got the inspiration to sing that song)…..

Besides the kids’ graduation, I am waiting for Brad and Toni’s wedding…the “suspense” is building! =-O

So, where were Knute and Crystal at the prom?
TiffWHO almost 10 years ago
Or instead of Superman, Clark Kents real secret identity is as mild-mannered comic writer for The Daily Planet known as Greg Evans.

Yes! But, as I said a little bit ago, my replicator’s in the shop and I can’t deliver any this evening…I get it all to myself! LOL! Except my hub Loves that bread and its going to disappear quickly… ;)

I always wondered if cartoonists invent their characters and get so involved with them that the characters take on a life of their own… ;)
luann1212 almost 10 years ago
I think they are being Senior sarcastic, but it will be far more interesting and spur a really good arc. Lets see. But I am just about positive they are being sarcastic.

Actually, CK has been giving away several of the next day’s strips…. including Garfield. He either had Monday’s paper early.. or the paper prints the weekdays a day ahead of when we get ’em here. Or somewhere in between….
ORMouseworks almost 10 years ago
Yes! I have several, but this one (which is actually from an old Weight Watchers( tm) recipe card), is my all-time favorite. Sometimes I substitute butter for the margarine and change the granulated sugar to Baker’s sugar. Today, I used the margarine (it has to be a high-end margarine to taste good) and the granulated sugar. Came out spectacular as always! ;)

Is it time for Evans’ vacation time already? ^I’m just guessing that some will have a turn opening their thoughts on their “experience summaries” to us, as we “peer in on their musings”……

Can you just imagine Luann’s reaction to see Miss Phelps employed as a counselor to the “undecided major” students?! ;)

Heheheh…fell off the chair again. I have got to get a seat-belt!!! LOL ;)

When Knute says he can hardly wait to start, does he mean start the essay, or start high school?
JayBluE almost 10 years ago
Ha ha!!! – And with the way his mind works, then he must wipe his brow when he needs to write something…
ORMouseworks almost 10 years ago
Yikes! I just looked at the clock! My Irish girl has been sleeping for an hour already! Found me a good library book I’d like to start reading… ’Nite all! ;)
Benjamin Franklin (1706 – 1790), from Poor Richard’s Almanck, 1758:
“A little neglect may breed mischief,….for want of a nail, the shoe was lost; for want of a shoe the horse was lost; and for want of a horse the rider was lost.”

So, where were Knute and Crystal at the prom?…In the bathroom?
-What prom? All the hype over the last what?-three months?, and now it’s like it never happened? I had hoped it would’ve been hashed over for a little longer, y’know, kind of eased down gently.
Editman almost 10 years ago
It must be strange for them, they just had their Prom, and now just twiddling their thumbs until Graduation in mid June.

Knutes tee shirt is the punchline.

Both Knute and Tiffany are going to end up as burdens to society. Or at least on their spouses if they somehow manage to get married.
jeanie5448 almost 10 years ago
he also “guessed” the Grand Avenue cartoon for today. Hummmmmm?
bermudamel almost 10 years ago
I would’ve loved to see more of the prom instead of 15 years of high school flashbacks we’ll be seeing for the next month. As for Tiff she prob realizes she’ll be there for a few more years anyway so why bother saying anything?
yangeldf almost 10 years ago
Tiff’s entire EXISTENCE centers around being the popular girl in high school, saying it meant nothing to her would be like an alligator not caring about the swamp.
vwdualnomand almost 10 years ago
too bad, so much stuff that was important in high school is not important in the real world.

Ah, FAKE Excitement over Doing an Essay. Not Bad. Such Skills will be USEFUL When the Young’uns REACH the Corporate World.
So Take HEART Mr. Fog Hat. The P.A.K.s DID Learn SOMETHING While In H/S….,

It’s a great day for all the Tiffany bashers on this forum! Be sure to exaggerate all her flaws in your comments today!
ACTIVIST1234 almost 10 years ago
Ok, who called (read) it yesterday!?!? Verbatim!

I didn’t expect that comment from Tiffany.

Tiffany wants to be an actress, but she is the only one here not putting on an act. She should use every opportunity to practice her acting (lying convincingly) skills.
Nobody_Important almost 10 years ago
Am I alone in thinking Tiffany may not pass her classes and graduate? Guessing she must not be doing too bad to have been accepted at a university, but this answer makes me wonder.
Willow Mt Lyon almost 10 years ago
In the real world Tiffany would not be a cheerleader or allowed in any of the school clubs unless her grades were at least a C+ average. She will pass her classes because this is a comic strip, not the real world.
3pibgorn9 almost 10 years ago
Right, Nermal.
And, no, Tiffany.

How tragic it will be when it turns out that for Tiffany, these were the best years of her life she’ll ever have…

Enjoy that porn career Tiff.
Meh~tdology, fka Pepelaputr almost 10 years ago
What was the point of the scene with Ox and Tiff ‘way back? We didn’t see them interact at all at the prom.Evans just snookered us by not bothering to carry through with the arc including those two, and Delta and Bernice while concentrating only on Luann, Quill, Gunther. and Rosa.Bad form, Evans. Bad form.

Hmm. I wonder of Mr. Fogarty will also take a stab at writing this particular essay? His might well be the most interesting!
Scott Stevenson almost 10 years ago
You know what’s sad?
In 20 years time, some of the kids at Pitts (maybe not any we see regularly) are going to look back and realize that their lives peaked back in high school
Mary McNeil Premium Member almost 10 years ago
And Tiffany may very possibly be one of those, Scott Stevenson!
QuietStorm27 almost 10 years ago
High school meant many dreadful, bully-filled days and wanting to end it all. Not exactly a nice essay and sadly more teens feel like I did than those who don’t.
King_Shark almost 10 years ago
Beerhunter said, about 7 hours ago“Enjoy that porn career Tiff.”A lot of porn actors are far more intelligent, well read and accomplish much more in their spare time than so-called “mainstream movie stars”.
King_Shark almost 10 years ago
I agree entirely with whoever it was said Tiff’s essay will be the only honest one.
seismic-2 Premium Member almost 10 years ago
Tiffany’s essay is only slightly shorter than Mr. Fogarty’s own essay about what he got out of all these decades of teaching at Pitt: “A paycheck.”

Oh, my goodness!!! They look like baby mice, too! I’d Love to know how that cat let the mice crawl all over his/her head! LOL!I’ll put up my B-R bread recipe in sections starting tomorrow…I bet even Luann would like it! ;)
