On a somewhat related topic, a man with Colorado license plates was stopped and searched in Idaho because, quote, the highway patrol officer smelled marijuana in the car, end quote. Minor problem – after an exhaustive search, no marijuana was found in the car or on the driver. The driver is now suing the Idaho State Police, claiming he was profiled as a being a marijuana smuggler because he had Colorado license plates and marijuana is legal in Colorado.
