    The problem is that the US auto makers put all their eggs in one basket. There’s nothing wrong with making big SUVs to cater to stupid Americans’ desire for them…but it’s dumb to completely cut out your small car lines. This isn’t the first time in memory that the entire buying public has opted to go for small cars. Totota & Honda manage to make great, reliable products in ALL sizes. American auto manufaturers just seem to make unreliable bleeep in one size only (just check Consumer Reports for auto reliability ratings).

    Joy … Think about the fact that Mr Green in California, the one that wants to keep prison air fresh, initally “sued” to purchase a Hummer because “it fit his immage”. Guess the big three thought the American market was ripe.

    I think the BIG 3 did put out some small cars Joy, quite some time ago. Their attempt was only half-hearted with little emphasis on engineering so the cars they put out were pieces of s**t, and their reputation lives on and we buy Hondas
