As I remember it Skeezix’s life in the army in North Africa was much serious than is remembered here.

I’m amazed by how short WWII was compared to some of the modern “actions”, but I suppose the world couldn’t have survived otherwise.

It didn’t seem short at the time. And everything was “for the duration”: The men’s enlistment time, the rationing, etc.

This may be the first appearance of Judy since Phyllis’ funeral.

I was trying to figure out who the other people are. They are, i believe, Skeezix’ sister Judy, brother and Nina. The year would ave been 1945 or 1946. Am i correct?

I wonder if Jim “owns” any of the original drawing files of Frank King or are they still in the possession of the King estate and family? There may be some stipulation that as long as GA exists the main character Walt Wallet should exist. I read that the aging process will continue until Skeezix reaches 100 and there after GA will become frozen in time like any other strip.

Yes, that’s what I mean. The scope and sustained ferocity of WWII were incredible, but it was a relatively short conflict. I don’t doubt as Marvee says that it may not have seemed short at the time.
