    A tad paternalistic, no?

It’s especially off-putting because: 1) It’s not the troops that are saying it’s time to leave, and 2) Many of the Iraqi forces think there’s no room for improvement and they need any U.S. mentoring.

They don’t want to change, they have been fighting each other for so long that’s all they know to do.They want our help cause they know that the people in that country will go right back to the ways they know the best. Danmed if we do,danmed if we don’t.

Doc Anyone would be happy to see foreign troops leave. However, that doesn’t mean that quite a few Iraq citizens aren’t worried about future violence. I recently had an Iraqi student who was worried about her family and what might happen to them when Amaerican troops left.

Gladius- when we dissolved their military and police forces under the Bremmer policies- WE created chaos, and it will still take more time for THEM to restore order. I wish them the best of luck, WITHOUT our troops.

My post was NOT aimed at keeping our troops there. It WAS a comment that many in Iraq are worried. A point this cartoon makes. I think the toon goes a bit far but it has SOME basis. I do agree with Doc’s assessment.
