Or she recognizes one of Gunther’s ingenious plans to remind her of him with the “Berger-bund” (and when Quill accepted it, Gunther chuckled, smirked and said to himself: “Phase two…. complete…”)

Two days before the prom, my date broke his foot, no dancing with him or anyone else. We also hit a deer on the way home. Had to ride up front in the tow truck with what looked guys from the movie Deliverance. Worst date ever.

Don’t mean to be a spoil sport, but I am kind of disappointed in Luann’s dress and “look” for the Prom. The dress is old fashioned, the color is just not good and the makeup is way to much. Going back a few weeks, Bernice’s dress was terrific (but again the make up in the car was overdone). Sorry. Can’t want ti see what the other girls look like. Let them all have a night to remember a lifetime!

Sigh! The kids have barely departed for the prom and Frank has already taken 283 photos of their preparation and departure, at least 282 of which are, say we say, not very good if the four frames we are shown are a representative sample—poor focus, ill-framed subjects, awkward moments, ad nauseam….

You can’t get 283 photos from a film camera. Frank’s camera is obviously old and not digital.

I would say that she’s not drunk in frame 3, but that after focusing on the cumberbund and the blurry picture, her dad finally noticed that her dress was too low and told her to pull it up – therefore her disgust and embarrassment.

    1) Aren’t guys supposed to coordinate their colors for cumberbund, pocket handkerchief, and tie with that of their date’s dress?*2) Aren’t dads supposed to take only complimentary, posed pictures, not ones where his daughter is scratching an embarassing place?

Yeah, and one bonus about doing it that way, is that people can be natural, be themselves (which to me is what makes a picture) and that’s usually when their character shines through, and also all the really fun stuff that happens between takes, or the joy of the moment comes out more, and adds another dimension to what made that time so nice…. – Posing does have it’s value, aesthetically speaking, and its place, but it wont get all the other stuff that the “more natural” pics can get… – And for the people who like to do slides, the pictures can tell a different story each time, and just maybe there won’t be so many groans when they hear the projector coming out….

She’s pulling her dress up! I used to organize the Prom at the high school where I teach, so I have seen that particular gesture many a time. She should have gotten some Frost King double sided tape, the kind used for insulating outside windows, to hold her dress up!

Forgot to add: That is also how the professionals do it, anyway. Especially for magazines. It’s never just “pose…..aaaaand…. we’re done!”. It’s always where they take many shots, and sometimes the best ones are the ones that you don’t look for.– It’s also interesting how some album covers are also done the same way. I always appreciated the work of “Hipgnosis” when they employed similar techniques to produce all of those iconic album covers (apart from any manipulations to the image they may have employed). And the book that was done about the company and the background to how some of those covers came about related how there were times when they stopped filming, something may happen, and the right shot “suddenly” appeared, and they had to hurry and get out their cameras when that moment had unexpectedly arrived….

“Moving Pictures” the album, by Rush. It’s a “triple” pun on making movies (moving pictures), works of art that produce emotion (“moving” pictures), and pictures that get transported from one place to the other (men hired to “move” the pictures). Check the cover (front and back) and see! – Also “The Camera Eye”, on said album….

“Do You Mind If My Whole Family Rides?”“I Think Your Friends Are Laughing At Me (But I Didn’t Say Anything Funny)”

and the one that won them a Granny award (comes out the day after the Grammys):“She Didn’t Stand Me Up (Everybody Forgets)”Here are some of the lyrics:

Either I’m a day earlyOr she’s a day lateEither way I’m not giving upSo far, this place is great!
