    “Joe Blahminose”?

    Really?

That’s the best Alldid could come up with?

Yep, Tracy would probably be able to collect damages to his knuckle caused by Alldid’s chin. And hey, it’s not like Dick has been able to beat the big time crooks by himself lately anyways

Notice the subtle in joke in panel one. Notice the artist calls Dick Tracy “Fosdick”. This is undoubtedly a reference to “Fearless Fosdick”, a “Dick Tracy” parody cooked up by "Lil’ Abner cartoonist Al Kapp. ;-D

They had already established that Fearless Fosdick exists as a comic strip in the DT universe…which means Lil Abner is a “real” person and exists in this shared universe!

Did Vera always call Tracy Fosdick? I don’t remember this.

As I suggested yesterday, take him out back and tune him up, Tracy. Stop dithering. You can trump up some charge and add “resisting arrest” as a cover story….

Vera, like a gnat, is a distraction. Soon Detective Tracy will be called to action:

Anyone recall Vera’s last name? I’m pretty sure that Alldid is his middle name.

JPuzzleWhiz, regarding your comment to coldsooner: Best one of the day! “Impersonating an office, sir!”.LittleIggy and others: Agreed. This is incredibly un-Tracy-like behavior – especially with the tidbit that Ray Toler gave us..Can anyone backfill me on Vera’s employ with Li’l Abner? References to a comic book? What the sam hill kind of comic book would Kadaver have in mind?.And, other than this connection with AK, I really don’t find that much sinister about this character. And while his criminals may be snotty, that’s still an improvement over Tracy’s mutant criminals..I maintain: Other than the connection to Li’l Abner, one could argue that Vera is, in fact, quite respectful of Dick Tracy..So what if he has a Stephan Pastis sense of humor?

Pequod77, I am in awe of you. Thank you for your daily contributions here. They are much appreciated it.I’m not a big Annie or Vera fan, as I may have mentioned before. I’m much more interested in getting back to Mysta, Venus, and Melies. Seeing Mysta again last week was especially exciting. It was like a powderkeg went off in here with all the passionate comments. She’s had that effect every time she’s been introduced and reintroduced to us. Now that it seems she’s on the fast track to evolving into a duplicate of the original Moon Maid, ohhh baby, excitement’s brewing again! Mysta’s a thrill in ten different ways and obviously puts a charge into the fans. We need to see her more! But these little interludes are fun.

The reason Tracy is taking this personally is that it is personal.Tracy is the father-in-law of Vera’s ex, and Vera will use any chance to irritate the Tracy family – especially if he can make a buck off it.
