Haven’t watched Skiffy, er, SyFy, er Venereal Disease (look it up: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=syfy) since they took MST3K off the air, so we can’t judge on any inability to follow the laws of physics, but we can vouch for its lack of credibility. Sharknado, indeed…

@Kali39 – took your advice and went to the site and found:

“3. Name of a TV network that shows imagination-based programming to go with their illusionary ratings. Failing after a re-branding press release insulted its core audience. "

Well, I guess you could say WWE is fiction – the science part must come in fooling the viewers to think it is real!

And people make jokes about the Polish, when they nailed it!

“1. Co to za syfy? (Eng.: What is this crap?)”

Why, WWE on SyFy!!! Along with assorted grade “Z” movies (much lower than B grade – “Z” is the lowest I can go unless I use the Polish (or another) alphabet)!!!

At least SyFy Channel movies are shooting for a lack of credibility and non-application of the laws of physics. Congress on the other hand…

There really IS such a thing. It is termed a “pingo mound.” and occurs in permafrost terrain. It’s usually fatal to whomever was present at the time.

As bad as SyFy Original Movies are, they provide much-needed job experience for beginning techs and special effects artists. The movies may be bad, but being able to cite any movie on one’s resumé is good.

I agree, Night. Yarn spinning is the essence of story telling (and I DO think there’s a difference) and a basic form of human creativity and entertainment. Those who want reality can go to…well, darned if I know, but don’t snark about it not being here!
