I used to buy a few boxes a year, but now that they’ve teamed up with the baby-killing factory Planned (non)Parenthood, I will not buy a single cookie.Sorry girls, blame your liberal leaders.

Do girl scout cookies actually contain sugar, or do they instead contain high fructose corn syrup? They might be decent tasting cookies, but they contain the same low grade industrialized ingredients as most other mass produced cookies. That is the major reason I haven’t bought them in several years.

I don’t care what anyone says. I rather support the young girls who are growing up into strong women. Two boxes of Thin Mints, please

Just because some nitwits are afraid of strong, confident GIRLS — not even women — is no reason to quit supporting the Girl Scouts. Most of what is being said about them negatively is simply wrong.

Hmmm, thanks for the idea CC. I usually buy a box or two. This year, I’ll squeeze the allowance I give myself, out of my hard earned paycheck, to buy at least 3 more boxes of Girl Scout cookies, perhaps 4. King Soopers usually lets them set up a table in front. They can be stored in the freezer for longer periods of time.

This reminds me of the Chik Filet (sp?) drama. When one of the bigwigs over there made some comment about homosexuals, everyone on the left went nuts. I recall reading a lot of comments about how the chicken there is awful, etc. And then of course the right overreacted in kind. I remember that the business for Chik Filet around here actually increased for quite some time as righties showed solidarity.

Now we have the mirror image. The righties are all upset by some head honchos comment. The lefties are reacting. Bet sales of Girl Scout Cookies go up.

I’m figuring somebody in the Girl Scout’s marketing department dreamed all this up. Now we’ll start seeing companies ‘market by outrage’. The CEO of Pepsi will make a rude comment about the NRA. Or maybe Tony the Tiger will come out against lesbians. Whatever. if you let the media make your spending and political decisions for you, you deserve what you get.

I will buy cases in order for young women to be educated and able to properly care for themselves with affordable cancer screenings and birth control ( to prevent pregnancy in the first place).

I stopped buying several years ago when the number of cookies shrank to the point it seemed like the lesson they were trying to teach was how to rip customers off. Especially since the money doesn’t go to help the girls, it’s mostly confiscated by the national council. I donate directly to local.

Thin Mints are basically crispy chocolate wafers with some mint extract added to the chocolate coating. I occasionally make my own dairy free version.

You think the leadership of the Boy Scouts is furthering their LIBERAL views? Have you been paying attention? They are largely run by Mormons now! They are strictly Christians of a conservative stripe. And they have changed to be less tolerant since I was a Cub Scout, Webelo, Boy Scout, and Explorer Scout. If you are going to make some kind of ridiculous high-handed statement you claim to be based on a principle, at least get the reasons right.
