Well, the rain did pour cold water on Calvin’s outdoor plans.

When it’s raining, jumping into puddles is on programme!

We used to love to play outside when it was raining when we were kids! You got to splash in puddles, play with an umbrella, watch the worms come out of the ground, etc. Although, I suppose after we were done with that, we’d come inside and drive mom crazy. Moms just can’t win . . .

Well you could go out and get soaken wet and make your mom wash your muddy clothes…………..but Hobbes wouldn’t like it.

Hard to believe Calvin doesn’t enjoy playing in fresh mud. Maybe Hobbes doesn’t like the rain.

I suggest some subtle hobby for rainy days, like bagpipes.

Mud tag! And parent’s who understood that dirt and kids are a part of child-hood. Of course it didn’t hurt that we could strip in the garage and head straight to the bathtub afterwards.

Gee, on rainy days we played board games (checkers, chess, Monopoly, etc), we set up battle scenes with toy soldiers, watched TV or played with other indoor toys. ☺

Have to side with Tacopievlr. Knew plenty of kids who got a whipping and they just became more miserable and nasty.Calvin is clearly bored, how will a spanking cure that?
