I’m in the process of reading “The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars” by Michael Mann. It’s not the best book on climate that I’ve read, but it does deal in great detail with the hockey stick (which is still a hockey stick, Harley) and also with the disinformation campaign of the professional deniers. The book concentrates on paleoclimatology, no surprise, considering who wrote it, but of course there’s a lot of other science contributing to the theory which the book doesn’t treat with the same detail. It’s an interesting book for those who already have some background, but it’s not the best book for an introduction to the topic. Maybe “The Weathermakers”, by Tim Flannery.
