Now, now…. you’re making entirely TOO much sense. You just made a LOT of heads explode with your logic, I think.
It’s funny how anti-gunners like to say that pro-gunners keep rehashing the same, old talking points about existing laws not being enforced. The thing is, those talking points are completely valid. Just because it’s a new day, month, or year doesn’t make the facts any less factual. The laws that are in place NEED TO BE ENFORCED. No new laws are required.
Funny how mine don’t do that, either. They just stay where I put them, waiting for ME to put the sights on target and pull the trigger. I don’t understand it.
Well, first of all, I agree that better enforcement would be good. I also agree that better mental health systems would be good. Blame Reagan and the GOP, who cut the bejeezus of that, so you can’t claim a win on that one.And actually, since there are many sensible laws enacted in nearly every other freaking country in the world, a little compare-and-contrast comes in handy here, too. We have a ludicrously high handgun death rate. There are reasons.
me and my team members used to sit at the table on our barge on the Mekong River and talk about how many things we could use on the table to kill, injure or maim…all of them had other uses also…our firearms, not so much.
I cannot stand the arugment “my gun doesn’t hurt people, PEOPLE hurt people.” Of freaking course! But your gun does make it a HELL of a lot easier to hurt MORE people, hurt them BADLY, and do it QUICKLY.
In reading the above comments, one gets the impression that law enforcement is to blame for our many shooting deaths. What must be done to get better law enforcement? Eh?
I know you libs don’t like logic or numbers, but facts are facts. More gun control, more gun deaths (Chicago). More citizens armed, fewer gun deaths. If you break into my house, you better be ready to “meet your maker”. I propose a law requiring all non-gun owners to post a huge sign in there front yard: “This family is unarmed”. Where I live, there are very few break-ins, because it is assumed everyone is armed.
Yep; logic and numbers: Miami has looser gun laws, more guns, and more gun deaths than Chicago: period. Dumbly and numbly continuing to bring up “Chicago” is just plain crazy. Miami, for many violent crimes, is much more dangerous than Chicago. I guess if Obama was from Miami, they’d forget Chicago/?
The GOP has blocked appointments of ATF leadership AND weakened enforcement clauses. And closing state-run institutions started in the 1960s in California…under Governor Reagan. Nope, Reagan.http://www.nytimes.com/1984/10/30/science/how-release-of-mental-patients-began.html
Life must not be so good: I’ve been shot at, and shot back, by NRA nuts out hunting. The guy who didn’t stop shooting at me was only impressed when the Sheriff, who knew me, pointed out I was a law enforcement officer, and could easily have killed him, rather than just coming close enough for him to release a “pants warmer”. BTW: when he went to court he lost his hunting privilege for life, and got a 6 month suspended sentence for assault. (Witnesses saw him shooting at me and my hunting partner.)
Tigger, just a little “reality check”, document a single case where a homicide was a knife or blunt object killing someone at 30 yards distace. (Even though most shootings DO occur within 10 feet.)
Your statistics are absurdly, laughably inaccurate. Just one bullet out of 120 fired (outside firing ranges) is used in a successful attempt at self-defense (and far more than that result in the death or injury of some trying to ‘defend’ him/herself with a gun).
Why do you wingnuts complain about the mental-health system and always vote to defund it? Oh yeah. Because we have a mental-health crisis in this country.

No, those with their heads stuck (up somewhere) are conservative and usually lapdog Republiclans.
I am unfortunately all too aware of the gun violence and its results.

If you think guns don’t kill people, try going to war without one.

Right next to the bush/cheney Iraq War headstone, which is right next to the budh/cheney Afghanistan headstone.

Except that gun deaths are starting to outpace all others as the leading cause of death.

Right, none of your guns have ever killed anyone. Not until one or more of you go crazy (ier) and start shooting up a theater full of “libs”.
