I woke up yesterday morning with Pete’s voice in my head singing a song I hadn’t heard in years. I wondered for a moment where that was coming from….then I said, “oh! I bet Pete Seeger died!”….found out an hour later that it was true. spooky.

sorry, Mr. Stahler. He was irreplaceable.

I feel obligated to point out that Mr. Seeger was blacklisted for years as a result of the legitimized multi-year personal witch-hunt known as the House Un-American Activities Committee, famously chaired by Joe McCarthy. A truly dark time for our nation, and although many had their lives ruined because of his mean-spiritedness combined with his power, most blacklisted should be proud that they did not “turn in” others, simply in order to keep out of his wrath.

Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. Thanks, Mr. Seeger, for doing your part. Today, though, you’d have to learn how to dance like a sexy-time. And learn to use a drum machine, if you want to get your music noticed.
