I recall how back in the late 1980s a snack food company actually took potato skins, did them up like potato chips, and sold them as a snack in their own right. The end product was actually quite good, but never really caught on. Different companies have tried to bring them back, with various results.

When I was growing up, we had beef tongue fairly often. I always thought it resembled a foot in a sock. (Probably one reason I became a vegetarian.)
