Berry and Michelle believe they are the king and queen of America. They live the high life of parties with celebrities and expensive vacations while not actually helping their “peasants”.
Oh, please. I think Michele Obama is allowed one birthday party per year. As for income distribution — it’s been going on on since 1980, with all of the distribution going upwards to the 1%. I’d settle for a brief slow-down. Raise the minimum wage to where it would be if it had kept up with inflation, and close tax loopholes so that Wall Street tycoons pay the same tax rate as people who work and build things.
I seem to remember in a civics class in college that the president AND his wife are allowed a stipend for entertainment…THEIR choice as to what it consists of
Remember the new uniforms flap over Nixon’s “royal guards”? Nancy’s wardrobe? How much DID it cost Americans to cut that brush in Texas (While Texas oil billionaires, and those in Denver, got sweet crude deals on federal oil leases?)
Frankly, what indulgences are spent at the White House, are nothing compared to what those folks providing for those “private donations” to such events garner as “rewards”- and yes, it’s been BOTH parties, for a long time. A review of the Harding administration, with comparison to Reagan’s and "W"’s would be appropriate howeveer.
Actually, my questions were directed toward Republican/Fox “news” viewers. They seem to think income inequality is in the same category as global warming — something made up by Obama in order to take money away from them.
And how do you deal with income inequality?.Democrats: The wealthy help to fund campaigns that will put decent people in power to assist the less fortunate..Republicans: The wealthy help to fund campaigns that will put fatcat lackeys in power to maintain their control over workers and keep their taxes low.
Ridiculous. When this is the biggest issue the rightwing has to flog — and when they explain it with the self-righteous nonsense above — you know there’s a chance to turn the corner and finally reclaim the nation from these fatcats and their lickspittle talkshow toadies.

I don’t mind if some people are rich. I do mind when a lot of people are poor.
