“Save The Date”….Wait- is someone trying to steal it?.. – Did someone not do their job at the calendar factory?…Did they forget to glue it on, or something?… – Is it time to donate to the “Borrowed Time Foundation”, again?…. – In this “Battle Of The Sexes”, neither one can seem to find a bridge to come to understanding….nor does either of them seem to be able to “find each other on the map”, in order to engage “the enemy”…. – In the language of one of them, “details” is loosely translated to the phrase “don’t sweat the small stuff”, and a “planner” is roughly equivalent to “person or time management aid who helps you be dressed and waiting at the door for an event light years ahead of schedule”….

In our family, we love cats! (And dogs, too…) – Actually, over these parts, we’re trying to go paperless with everything (as much as possible), though… I end up having to either shred a lot of stuff, or end up having to pitch a lot of extra stationery out… sometimes, I may even drop off extra stuff at the “Goodwill” or a similar place… – I’ve even managed to end up with some extra calendars from over the years… it’s almost like keeping wine, where you say: “Oh, 2009… that was a good year!”… – You might also want to check with the folks over at the “Citizen Dog” strip, too…

I was thinking of suggesting looking up on Facebook, too… – The only thing is, being able to exchange P.I.I. (Personally Identifiable Information) in a place with unsecured pages (where your profile is accessible to anyone who wants to look you up)…. It would be nice if there was a secure way to do so, without drawing attention…. – In addition to the Target hacking in the news, locally, at a major medical/legal university and the major teaching hospital in the area, they’re trying to get to the bottom of who hacked into the database and got the personal information for the employees and students of the teaching hospital attached to the college and it’s system (which information is also used to format the electronic swiping cards for them, there)…..

Never understood the fuss about prom. Some people spend more on prom than I spent on my wedding. My mom made my prom dress and I did my own hair and makeup. We went to the prom in my date’s car. We came home at midnight. And I had a great time.

Even Quill and Luann are like so many men and women who do not understand the other’s way of thinking. But at least they’re playful about it, rather than arguing bitterly.

And, just for the memories, Manfred Mann, The Mighty Quinn, a.k.a. Quinn the Eskimo….

That’s a casual, easy relationship. I get why Quill’s relaxed about it, he might not realize proms are cheaper when you ask earlier. If Luann puts it in terms of ‘prom tickets are cheapest now and go up in price every week’ he’d practically ask her on the spot.

Anthony Quinn played an Eskimo (named "Inuk’) in the 1960 movie “The Savage Innocents”. When the Manfred Mann song came out, I assumed that was the basis of it, until I read the Bob Dylan quote that it was a simple nursery rhyme. Who knows.

Anyway, back on topic, I agree with Quill. Considering how tedious this “prom” theme has already become, the prospects of stretching it out until April are painful to contemplate. I hope the strip changes plots to something else, such as the students’ being accepted (or rejected!) by the colleges they applied to. That’s always a huge part of this time of year, more so than a school dance.

Luann might want to make sure Quill is actually planning on going with her. It sounds like she just assumes they are going together. He seems to have different thoughts.

She should just pick out whatever colors she likes and then tell him a week before the dance.

Please don’t put her in black, Greg. Luann is a Spring. (http://www.colormebeautiful.com/seasons/spring/index.html) That spring green number you had her in this past fall was a better color choice. I’m seeing her in tomato red. Salmon, coral, or aqua would also be good.

Bernice, however, IS a Winter, and will kick ass in that black dress you had her trying on this week!

Colors for men’s tuxes have changed to the point that the “rules” about certain colors worn after dark don’t seem to even apply, anymore… now, they may even wear a white jacket, black pants and the thing that brings them together are the color choices of the shirt and tie. – I surmise that part of it has to do with wanting to coordinate with the girls, as sometimes the girls will give their “recommendations” to their date…
