Too many are too quick to use the military and too slow to pay the price. Wars are fought on deficits. Participation is shared unequally. Bush didn’t include costs in the main budget or have it show up in the deficit. Time to man up – if you’re going to use it, pay for it!
Something about serving in the military that ill prepares some for civilian life. Is it possible that many of the homeless would have had difficulty even if they had not served? The marginal ones believed the clap trap about wars of aggression being about fighting “to keep us free,” then were disillusioned when they found out otherwise and were not hailed as returning heroes.
