Lisa might want to check into the server drought conditions in California, and the west, and give up on her ludicrous aim at “water projects” and trying to blame Obama. Being on a well myself, I’m just north of the border, but VERY concerned about our third year of drought, and weather in the 50’s and dry for the next couple weeks when we SHOULD be in the 20’s and 30’s with snow every few days.
Yes. Lisa’s point is far from clear, but if she thinks it’s because Calfornia isn’t taxed enough (revenue) to pay for water projects, she’s not making her usual nonthinking anti-tax, anti-Democratic position. But the lack of water is because there’s no precipitation in the Sierras, not because there aren’t enough canals. Quick test: are all the canals at capacity? Oh, and to the other posters, there are no socialists in state government in California. Fact.
There is no need to fund further water projects in California, the infrastructure for more than enough water flow is already in place. It’s the WATER (ah, the Olympia beer motto) that is the problem, and the missing element. Lisa’s entire knowledge of environmental issues is smaller than that single drip from the pipe.
Over 90% of the water used in California goes to agribusiness. If they save just 5% of their water is would be more than the 20% governor Brown wants to conserve. And by far the most of that food is exported out of the state anyway. If we in California produce less, then enjoy your increased food prices!!
Overtaxed: give it a rest, we realize both of your brain cells are overtaxed from those prions from eating roadkill.
Cube, name one reservoir at normal fill levels. Granted, your septic is clogged tight with no water in it, but that doesn’t make it an information source for your “facts”.
We have higher obesity rates due to depression – the realization that there are three long years left. I think I’ll have another donut, it’s better than crack.
