That said Adrian unfortunately misses the point. Whether they are tax exempt or not the IRS, an agency of the government should never be allowed to be used by politicians of any stripe for furthering their political positions or as an insturment of revenge against their political opponents. To do so is very much the mindset and actions of dictators rather than a duly elected public official.
That’s baloney. The IRS targeted ALL political groups that applied, as they are required by law. They used “tea party” as a flag, and also “occupy” and “progressive.” The only group that was turned down was a liberal group. And the idea that Obama was involved is pure conservative wishful thinking. Not a single shred of evidence has been found, and there is no motive or evidence of cover up.
The Wall Street Journal yesterday and NYT today reports that the FBI report on the IRS “scandal” found that there was no wrong-doing — the IRS scrutinized both right and left-wing groups, and was following the law. Cartoon fail, Mike Lester.
Oh, unless the entire FBI, the entire IRS, and the WSJ and NYT are secretly run by Obama. I suppose that’s likely.

Never let a myth, or distorted story, die, it deprives the TEA partiers of anything to say.

Let me guess: “This was not intended to be a factual statement.” You don’t convince many by making your numbers up out of thin air.
