all those opposed to wasting energy need to get a grip. This is no different than the removal of leaded gas or the imposition of pollution devices.

CFLs contain mercury vapor, so the comparison to leaded gas is ironic. They poison the Chinese who make them too.

LEDs are promising though. Once the tech is mature these fascist progressive mandates will be irrelevant.

Meanwhile, incandescent bulbs produce heat that’s useful in northern winters.

"Of course, we misers switched to low-energy bulbs years ago. "I remember my grand parents having some kind of odd circular florescent light tube in their lamps back in the early 1980s.

I wonder why Lady Liberty hasn’t switched to clean coal?

“LEDS replaced flourescnes years ago.” Not quite. They aren’t available in Walmart just yet. At least, not in my town.

“Street stop lights that were changed to LED light bulbs are having problems in the north. Where before the heat generated melted ice and snow buildup the LED’s are getting covered. So yes, there is a benefit to using incandescent lights in some instances. Seems libs put on their blinders and that’s how everyone should suddenly think.”My understanding is that most municipalities stopped using incandescent bulbs in street lamps back in the 1950s and ’60s. They were replaced by the more efficient sodium, mercury vapor, and metal halide bulbs, each of which are more suitable for lighting large areas than incandescent.

Seems that the Libs have blinders on most of the time, and are adverse to removing the blinders.
