CFLs contain mercury vapor, so the comparison to leaded gas is ironic. They poison the Chinese who make them too.

They were replaced by the more efficient sodium, mercury vapor, and metal halide bulbs, each of which are more suitable for lighting large areas than incandescent.

Seems that the Libs have blinders on most of the time, and are adverse to removing the blinders.
