I was on the handle bars of a friend’s bike one time, he jumped off in time, I didn’t!

Actually, the fact that Calvin can’t see would probably improve his driving.

Why does Hobbes do that?

Animals have more a more innate sense than humans do for survival.

I haven’t been on a toboggan in years, but I believe you can steer (somewhat) by leaning.

Hobbes didn’t push the sled down the hill, he just stepped off. I can easily see how people thought the other way though.
