Happy New to All. Let us be strong enough to take opportunities to make 2014 much better than 2013, and have the insight to see opportunities to do good and be better, and the wisdom to choose well. Thank you all!Now please VOTE! and support the greatest ’toonsmiths in the world, in any way you can without hurting yourself!. . Vote ENDTOWN

. Vote Doc Rat . Vote Hubris . Vote Kevin and Kell . Sincerely, . JusSayinPS: Why haven’t any TopSiders reached for their Zero guns or some weapon? Could it be peace has broken out, or leadership strategy at TopSider Central has changed? Maybe the TopSiders revolted much like Endtown? Maybe these are renegades who’ve seen the error of their ways?Could the dittos really be hiding them, and Wally just blew that, or are the dittos running a test?Tune in tomorrow. There is an off chance one or more of these questions maybe answered. Or maybe I’ll get more questions.

I’m guessing that the dittos are keeping Wally and Holly hidden. The biosuit brigade saw the footprints but didn’t see the person making them. They may be trying to figure out what’s happening and whether they’re imagining it. I’m guessing that they’ve just seen Wally shoot at something but don’t really know what’s happening. The big question is, what is Wally shooting at? From the look of his eyes in the 3rd panel, it looks like he saw something and is trying to shoot it before it tries to shoot him. The pair following him are looking up too. Do they see something too or do they see his shots?I don’t think I’ve seen Topsiders this stealthy before.

If they keep their arms down, maybe nobody will notice they have floppy pinkies on their gloves. Maybe the suits just wore out, or someone beside Flask knew about the design flaw. How cool would that be, a buncha TopSiders staying in their suits and trying not to let anyone know they were mutants. Missed opportunity here, West Albion needs Mutant Topsider Women like Flask.

On the other hand…what is Wally shooting at? The Topsiders seem to be looking at it, too, without bringing up their own guns…

I think the Topsiders are ditto illusions, like the transport drone. If they were real, Wally would have heard them.

There was only one Topsider who would have managed to face a surrounded mutant without cracking cruel jokes – and Al accidently got that one killed. So yes, I agree with most people here: Dittos again. They made that airscout appear to tell Holly to get a grip on herself and now they are doing the same thing to Wally. That makes me wonder: Either they are much more intelligent than we think, or they got very specific instructions from Mr. Marx to be sure the two wouldn’t fail.

Wally’s cat sense…tingling. But, is it from the Topsider coming up behind him—or the vaguely anthro-shaped piles of material similar to cat litter?

From today’s strip, I thought it might be a ditto illusion—but a replay. But then I thought that dittos only seem to be able to reflect memories inside a persons head; or maybe memories that they have recorded themselves (if they are doing a replay). Wally’s dittos wouldn’t have been able to see what happened before Wally got to Albion. The other guesses above—that the dittos are “playing” again, seem to make sense, considering the un-stressed postures of the Topsiders.

Once again, amazing. Looking at the last panel feels like just having watched a few seconds from a movie. It doesn’t capture motion by itself but implies perfecty what happened immediately before.

My guess is that the dittos are highly intelligent either singularly or collectively. However they have limited abilities to comumicate. Being disregarded as only something to manipulate, use, or ignore has given them anger issues. Hence they like to play games.

Remember, too, Wally’s oft-stated reluctance to kill anyone? What is he firing at?

I thought Wally’s gun only stunned (like he did to Linda) not kill. I could be wrong.

My first thought was Wally was just trying to incapacitate the Topsider behind him to get have a chance to get away.

IF THEY ARE real, Wally has enough time to get them all with a quick swing. Breaking the fabric of the TS costume will tern all of them to monsters. Blessed New Year and good luck in all mentors.

These Topsiders are odd. I would have expected them to take their guns out of their pouches. I could understand that they might have been waiting down there for days before Wally arrived, BUT they are probably waiting on the probability of an uninformed mutant visiting the place, and Wally couldn’t have opened the manhole cover silently so that noise should have brought guns out immediately.Secondly their posture is extremely casual, they’re following Wally so they sense something that they don’t understand is there, why is their posture so loose and why aren’t those #$%#^%^%$@! zero guns out?

I am now quite inclined to agree:These arriving Topsiders can’t seeThat the cat-in-the-packIs right there — and that lackWill give him a chance to get freeHe’s been able to pull out his gunAnd he’s spun fast and shot, didn’t runHe’s got two more to getWith a double-tap hitBut remember, he’s set to just stunSo he’ll have quite a pile of new “friends”And more coming; their kind never endsWhile these won’t be much hurtThey’ll be on high alertFrom the noise that the zero-gun sendsIt is time to abandon this jailAnd to “get out of Dodge” without failNow that Albion WestHas gone to its restHe and Holly now need to set sailAnd the old year’s set sail for the west2014’s arrived. My requestMay the coming year serveEach just what you deserveIn my view, you’re deserving the best=|====/ Level HeadVote for Endtown 2.0And for Doc Rat, tooThe Endtown ForumThe Endtown AuctionThe Endtown Books

You all may be right on the dittos, but I wonder… If it is not the dittos then this is not typical Topsider behavior. They are neither trying to capture/harvest or destroy. Since Aaron seems to be interested in political interactions lately perhaps there are some among the Topsiders who have come to realize that a human-mutant war will destroy all of what humanity is left on Earth.BTW, has anyone but me wondered why all the Topsiders seem to be about the same height and build? Are there no fat or short Topsies? Has their preoccupation with eugenics and ‘racial purity’ caused them to ‘weed out’ among their own? Jus’ thinkin’…

It seems that Wally became aware of the TS behind him, turned and fired. OTOH, the other two would have then been in front of him, which only makes sense of they appeared after Wally turned around.

I read Doc Rat last night, did the math, and when I finally decided to comment, I couldn’t get on CTC.So: 99 chnd idren of toads on the wall,

    99 children of toads,

    We’ll make a snip,

    Close with a stitch,

No more new children of toads

    Doc Rat

Remember to vote at CTC, its a new month Endtown, Doc Rat, Hubris and Kevin and Kell need votes. Oh, and remember to check out Ginger Meggs here at gocomics. Every time I go over there and mention Doc Rat and Endtown, Jason Chatham personally responds in a kind and courteous manner. I mention that because Ginger Meigs is based in Australia, and Jason Chatham says he’s loved Doc Rat for years and respects Jenner and his work. Ginger is mostly funny and gocomics has a good archive of his stuff.
