This one made me laugh. But really? How many kids under 10 years old today know who George Takei is?

Well, Joey is not your average kid.

Every Trekkie (and their relatives who are forced to watch endless Star Trek shows as a kid) knows who George is.

The point here is that Joey knows George Takei through his Facebook postings. He may not even be aware of the original Trek cast. That, at least, is how I read the gag. It’s the perception of a kid today, with little knowledge of anything older than last week.

As I understand it, George’s been enjoying some popularity on the social networks, but I didn’t think it was THAT popular.

On another note, Maria’s advice isn’t ALL bad. Don’t know exactly what her dad writes for a living, but using Facebook (or like networks) to promote it is a sound idea, and now done by several authors trying to promote their works.

I guess Joey doesn’t know Maria’s last name.

I love all my comics here, but would not want to reread them all on FB. The only one I see regularly on my page is One Big Happy (and I come HERE every day that I’m online and FB never when traveling and not every day at home).

GoComics has a tab open most of my days.
