Zonker: 11:59. At this moment in time, recreational marijuana is illegal in the state of Colorado. And now... it is not! Oh, wow. Zipper: Okay, so I don't feel anything... Zonker: Give it a minute. It'll kick in.
Also, if you stick around long enough, you will probably be given the chance to upgrade to Pro for free. It’s been so long I forget how it came about, but I’m on my second free upgrade now. I’ve never paid anything. I also have Adblock, which I highly recommend. And it’s free, too.
But, yeah, I remember having to put up with those annoying ads, too. I like to leave pages up in open tabs to follow replies to my posts. I’d be sitting there, on another site, and suddenly the audio would start, right out of the blue. Then I’d have to hunt it down to kill it.
If it’s a digital watch it could well read ‘11:59’ up to a fraction of a second before 12:00, so even if you read really fast it could still not be weird.
Re: the ads – I realize that comics can’ just be given out for free, but the degree of ad distraction can make them so hard to read that I’ll just go back to seeing my two favorites in print. I don’t even absorb the content or origin of the ads, its just a knee-jerk reflex to eliminate them as quickly as possible.
Thanks for the follow-up yesterday. I just read something about the manufacture of THC hotdogs and other products and wondered about the effect of being fed high concentrations without one’s knowledge; or the effect on children if they consumed these things with or without knowledge of what was in them. I was happy to hear that cannabis was legalized, but had not thought about it in terms of the active ingredient being legalized without any controls on purity or dosage: people consuming the stuff and then driving their cars, etc. In the absence of controls, if only societal controls, any drug can cause problems. A glass of wine and a pint of pure alcohol are quite different things; an occasional pipe or cigar and a two-pack-a-day cigarette habit are two different things, too. Nihil nimis.
People with addictive personalities can get addicted to pot. They can miss a lot of school or work. I’ve met a couple guys like that. Legalize it, but don’t be its b—ch.

Bit of a slow reader, hey?

It’s not just this site. A lot of sites doing this. I hate when the ads go off full blast and you can’t find them right away.

Does this mean anyone in prison in Colorado for possession of weed will be released? Will all Colorado marijuana possession records be expunged?
I think that they should be.

I guess you guys are too busy talking about and/or smoking pot to notice that ZIPPER’S NOSE IS MISSING IN PANEL TWO!

(Okay, I know it’s actually there, but the way GT did the silhouette makes it look like it’s missing.)
