Thank you for your accurate and non-biased history lesson. You said it at least as well as I could have.
In my opinion, if Mr. Nixon had just made a speech to the nation stating that wrongs had been done, that they were a mistake, and that even if he had nothing to do with it, the buck stops at his desk, I’m pretty sure the subject would have been closed (at least where he himself was concerned). Similarly, if Mr. Clinton had stated that he had strayed, that he was sorry, and that it truly should be just between him and his wife, impeachment would have been a much more difficult ploy.
There’s a reason why people say that honesty is the best policy.
Wow, excellent summary. Unfortunately, Gerald Ford closed off any investigation of other possible misdeeds when he pardoned President Nixon who went to San Clemency, California. So, if there weren’t, we won’t likely ever know.

Nixon signed NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Ford “ended” the Viet Nam war, not Nixon.
