“Because I really liked having a policy that cost $5 a year with a $250000 deductible. Not that I ever had to USE it. I’m never going to get ill.”

    (yeah, right.)

It is too bad that lies do not have consequences in politics. If they did, 3/4 of all politicians serving in state and national positions would be banished from politics. Truth is just one of many things from which career politicians protect themselves. Mr. Obama’s ‘lie’ is just the latest of the daily stream of falsehoods, fear mongering, and divisiveness our elected officials use to manipulate us and keep themselves in power. It is my understanding that the only people actually losing their doctor/healthcare plan are people whose plans are, frankly, inadequate. I’ve heard and read many stories of people who, once they found out what their plans didn’t cover, were shocked and WANTED to change. That said…There are still people who don’t want to have to pay for things they know they won’t use and for which they don’t want to share in the costs and Mr. Obama should have anticipated that and qualified his statement appropriately. As lies go, however…There have been many many more that were much worse over our history. And it is too bad that the liars are protected from their deliberate efforts to mislead the American people.Respectfully,C.

My insurance premiums have increased 601%, and my deductible has increased 445%. “Affordable” healthcare, my Aunt Fanny. C’mon 2016.

4 out of 10 were from elected officials. Half of those belong to Obama.

The only happy people I have come across so far are the ones who will get their policy subsidized. They of course are claiming they are saving money. But in reality others are just paying for the savings. My prescription drug plan went up 140% and I am still waiting on the other one but its going to be ugly I imagine.

Inaccurate interpretation of the details the public has proven they couldn’t have understood anyway? Yes that was an error, and should have been clearer that not all existing plans would meet the mandates that CONGRESS PASSED, and the SCOTUS (did read and cited in their decision) gave their stamp of approval, doesn’t hardly match one true lie: WMDs.

The best way to lose an argument (or an election, or a war) is to totally misunderstand your opponent. In calling every Obama voter “zero information” and “socialist”, you are showing your misunderstanding. Just for sake of argument: could it be that well-informed people did not believe that “Corporations are people, my friend”? That the easy way to solve the problems of high cost for higher education is to “ask your parents”? That treatment in emergency rooms is “free”? There are more examples, but I think the point is made. If you have two evils from which to choose, the informed people will often choose the lesser evil. You do a disservice by your gross, blanket, and incorrect generalizations, and do not help your cause, your conservatism, or your party in doing so.

NFL, please look for my qualifiers. I do try to install them. There have been reports of journalists who spoke to people who complained about not being able to keep their healthcare plan and who, once they learned more about their plan, wanted something better. As I stated in my comment, there are still plenty of people who want to stay with their plans. There are people who will never have children who don’t want to pay for plans that include such things. There are others. Despite accusations that I lie, I am simply noting that there are people who don’t understand what they have. Once they know, some want something better, others don’t.You have been generally patient with me, and I appreciate that. I DO NOT LIKE THE ACA AS WRITTEN. But I do want “A” ACA. Our people need it, and we are already paying an ER tax. The hospital closest to me has to make up 187 million dollars in losses a year because of ER visits.Something needs to be done. I wish our politicians would work together to come up with a plan.Unless you are only counting conservatives as “Americans”, and I know there are some here who do, you cannot say MOST are made sick to their stomachs by the ACA. It is very close to half and half. And the numbers of those liking it increase monthly.I do not know if that is a good thing or not. If Dems feel ‘secure’ about the ACA, they may be less willing to compromise on the kind of changes the plan needs…. and it DOES need repairs and improvements.I am not your enemy, nor am I looking for hand outs. I’m on a premium healthcare plan and have no skin in this game. My relatives and friends however, do.We are not enemies, NFL.Except that I’m a Saints fan, and you are obviously Washington loyal. ;)Respectfully,C.

Pre-Obamacare premium $173.00 per YEAR, post-Obamacare premium $1,300 per year. Pre-deductible $450 per year, post-deductible $2,000 per year. Same company, UMR. Actually, I misspoke on the percentages. I dropped some voluntary coverage so I could go with the “median” plan. (Can’t afford the top-tier coverage, and thank GOD I don’t have to insure any dependents.) My premiums increased 751%. It was the bare-bones coverage that only increased 601%, but that deductible went from $450 to $6,000!

Since I work for a healthcare-related industry, (pharmacy software), our insurance coverage was some of the best available. $450 in-network deductible, 80% coninsurance, $35 copay for primary-care physician, specialist or urgent care visits. $0.00 copay for preventive care. Generic maintenance prescriptions $0.00 for a three-month supply. My coverage was exceptional. I liked it, and I wanted to keep it. The president said I could keep it if I liked it and he LIED.

sorry, NFL. Drain bamage strikes again. I can’t recall your team. My team is making me cry. The number of skins fans in my neighborhood, judging by the flags, is quite high.I have Cherokee and Choctaw heritage, and perhaps if I was fully immersed in the culture, I might feel it racist/offensive. I seem to recall that the Seminoles got to the keep the name of their team because the college where they played made concessions to the tribe, and that the tribe, frankly, is supposed to be proud of the team.Hard to say. I hear the word squaw is a horribly offensive word in its tribal language. Romanians don’t like the word, gypsy, and the Irish don’t like “pikers”. People are too easily offended. So… remind me… who IS your team?Merry Christmas, NFL. I’ll be leaving Monday morning and may not be on again until next year.Your friend, neighbor, and political annoyance,C.

Think about the teachers in Wisconsin. They were working under a contract that included healthcare. Scott Walker wanted to break that contract and to pass the health care premiums on to the teachers. And so he did.

LIER, LIER, LIER! You don’t even know what happened in Wisconsin. You are such an idiot! Another uninformed cool-ade drinker! Sheesh….
