It is too bad that lies do not have consequences in politics. If they did, 3/4 of all politicians serving in state and national positions would be banished from politics. I’ve heard and read many stories of people who, once they found out what their plans didn’t cover, were shocked and WANTED to change.That said…There are still people who don’t want to have to pay for things they know they won’t use and for which they don’t want to share in the costs and Mr. Obama should have anticipated that and qualified his statement appropriately.As lies go, however…There have been many many more that were much worse over our history. But in reality others are just paying for the savings. My prescription drug plan went up 140% and I am still waiting on the other one but its going to be ugly I imagine.

The best way to lose an argument (or an election, or a war) is to totally misunderstand your opponent. In calling every Obama voter “zero information” and “socialist”, you are showing your misunderstanding. Just for sake of argument: could it be that well-informed people did not believe that “Corporations are people, my friend”? That the easy way to solve the problems of high cost for higher education is to “ask your parents”? That treatment in emergency rooms is “free”? There are more examples, but I think the point is made. If you have two evils from which to choose, the informed people will often choose the lesser evil. You do a disservice by your gross, blanket, and incorrect generalizations, and do not help your cause, your conservatism, or your party in doing so.

Once they know, some want something better, others don’t.You have been generally patient with me, and I appreciate that. I DO NOT LIKE THE ACA AS WRITTEN. But I do want “A” ACA. Our people need it, and we are already paying an ER tax. The hospital closest to me has to make up 187 million dollars in losses a year because of ER visits.Something needs to be done. I wish our politicians would work together to come up with a plan.Unless you are only counting conservatives as “Americans”, and I know there are some here who do, you cannot say MOST are made sick to their stomachs by the ACA. It is very close to half and half. And the numbers of those liking it increase monthly.I do not know if that is a good thing or not. If Dems feel ‘secure’ about the ACA, they may be less willing to compromise on the kind of changes the plan needs…. and it DOES need repairs and improvements.I am not your enemy, nor am I looking for hand outs. I’m on a premium healthcare plan and have no skin in this game. Actually, I misspoke on the percentages. I dropped some voluntary coverage so I could go with the “median” plan. (Can’t afford the top-tier coverage, and thank GOD I don’t have to insure any dependents.) My premiums increased 751%. It was the bare-bones coverage that only increased 601%, but that deductible went from $450 to $6,000!
Since I work for a healthcare-related industry, (pharmacy software), our insurance coverage was some of the best available. $450 in-network deductible, 80% coninsurance, $35 copay for primary-care physician, specialist or urgent care visits. $0.00 copay for preventive care. Generic maintenance prescriptions $0.00 for a three-month supply. My coverage was exceptional. I liked it, and I wanted to keep it. The president said I could keep it if I liked it and he LIED.
