I have it on authority from a certain happy medium that ghosts are actually hairy and have buck teeth, and tend to drool at seances — that’s what ectoplasm is. .And at a seance, never trust what a ghost is saying if you hear giggling in the background. Ghosts are bored and in their dealing with the Living are notorious practical jokers — e.g. poltergeists.
