I have always hated those bragger letters. .One year I was going to do one and actually sent one out to a friend who called me and as we talked, she let me know how self absorbed the letter sounded, so I threw all the rest of them away and swore I would never ever do another one.
No gaping void….just translate the letter accurately!
For instance…Chuck’s ‘promotion’ was based on the fact that he has too much seniority to fire and has been promoted up even tho he is incompetent.
Ashley’s ‘challenging year’ was because the family could not get her away from party after party and she is struggling to pass her courses. She decided to volunteer as a way to guilt her course teachers into giving her a ‘C.’
Chuck engages in massive delusion and was able to convince his family that, one day, he might actually earn a Nobel…

See no sense in a “Christmas letter”. That’s stuff, if it were true, isn’t something to tell in a end of the year letter.
