I salute and honor Americans and our allies who fight for us and for our values. The lives of those men and women should not be placed in jeopardy unless it is for vital national interests.
War should be the last resort. Too often I have seen lives ruined and lives and treasure wasted. Resources misdirected, too. Worst of all: War begets more war.

On Thanksgiving, folks here keep bringing up the “Puritans” who got kicked out of everywhere else, so they came here to make everyone worship the way THEY did! Americans think with our hegemony that EVERY country should also have our government, and “worship” just as we do, having the same economic and social structure WE have more or less, “chosen”.
The fact is this: most of the world does NOT see things the way we do. From “socialist” Scandinavian countries, to tribal areas in Africa, South America, and Asia, others find their cultures preferable, even in Afghanistan! The loya jirga that Karzai put together is a fraud, folks HE selected, NOT the quite democratic methods Afghans had for centuries when each village or community DID pick their OWN man to represent them, not some toady picked by OUR toad. Now the little imbecile picked by Condii has the audacity to think just because he was set in place by us to rip off his people, he can continue to do so?
The fact is most tribal areas ARE more “democratic” than the U.S.. That sexual discrimination isn’t that odd in any patriarchy, like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, with even Buddhists often placing women in “second class status”. It’s interesting the sideways slurs aimed even at our women in Congress, mostly by the “rightest” of the “evangelical” types, and “strict conservatives”, just like in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. The most dogmatic ARE the most descriminatory.
