Going to the mall is like suicide during black Friday. I stay as far away and wait till after New Year’s. Spending Holiday’s with family should be nice. If you have no family it is rough.

Nope. The Book of Daniel was composed ~167 to 164 BC,170 years after Alexander had rolled through. All the “predictions of the future” are perfectly accurate up to 165 BC (since they were written after the fact). The predictions are inaccurate after ca 165 BC (11:40-45, for instance).The book was written many decades after the Hebrew canon was closed in 200 BC.

We did away with gift giving in our family a few years ago. It’s worked out quite well.
