Val: You divided your room?? Holly: Alix always has something WEIRD on her side...creatures in a box, bugs in a jar... Val: She's 9. I'm sure you have habits SHE finds annoying. Holly: Impossible. Alix: If I could get to the dresser I'd show you my list...it's really LONG.

Evie leaving) Time to think about it.Will only grow worse as they grow older.Moving isn’t the answer, as Joan andWally are next door, but war willescalate as Holly proceeds into teen years, that is pretty clear. Poor little kid (Alex)O.K. now. We need an extra room (witha bath to ease the tension). Do you thinkWally and Phil could help? If they did alot of the work, the could save Val a lotof money. Betcha Evie could help buildalso, with her experience building houses This could be a family thing, Andy is bigenough to help. It could be Alexs’, onceHer royal highness leaves for college. Justget the permits rolling. :)

Would also increase the value ofVal’s house, with permits andinspections. How cool is that?Everybody wins. Her Highness, Alex (peace of mind) Val (more house/value/ fun family time, everyone pulling together, peace ofmind) Family/togetherness/ Evie, helping her daughter AND bothgrandkids/excitement, she likes to build houses/help/ Phil & Wallyguy thing/ helping Val, kids. Maybethey could even get Evie’s boyfriend in on it. He/she house building team, time back together again ..Can yousee where this is going? :)

Never have children, they only perpetuate our failures.

Teen arrogance. Holly is really going to get shot out of the saddle by life.

On the bright side, both kids will be well prepared for marriage and getting along with others.

Or you could sell Holly to the gypsies. You’d get top dollar for blond and everybody would be happier. Holly won’t be happy anywhere so don’t waste time worrying about that.

My problem girl had mellowed out by the time she was sixteen. Ten was the worst year. My problem grandson is sixteen now, and has also mellowed out (some). He no longer has to take meds to function.

It looks to me like they are already on Holly’s side of the sheet where the dresser is. So why doesn’t she just get the list?

I thought Holly was mellowing out a little. And she’s at the age when privacy becomes important. I think Jan treats Holly with compassion and humor. I just love the whole family

They share a dresser? That is weird. At least buy them their own little dressers! We were very fortunate to have our own rooms growing up. My sister and I fought like “cats and dogs”. It didn’t help that we are 7 years apart. :P

But then she moved out when I was 11 and I got her room and my old room was made into a “den” with a tv. Happy days! :D

I think I saw the dresser on Alix’ side a few days ago when this story started.

I still don’t understand what happened to the room Joan and her little boy shared when they lived there. Grandma and Mom both still had their own rooms and the girls shared. Who’s in Joan’s old room?
