Personally, I find a lot of Michael Moore’s stuff absolutely hillarious. It is actually fun to watch and laugh at. I don’t think he meant it that way though…
^Hmm, like Rush, and the fact that without conspiracies and an audience of well, less than brilliant followers, he’d still be stuck dealing Oxycontin for a living.
^Cora, you listen to Faux, and never heard them mention Benghazi, Kenya, if Rupert had owned Fox at the time of the Kennedy assasination, things would have gotten a LOT uglier in the coverage. I watch Fox only until they come up with a total lie, or some nauseatingly false “interpretation” of the facts as “news”- that usually takes only 10-15 minutes or 2 or 3 stories before they hit “myth mode”.
One problem most of us have to deal with is the tendency to become personally invested in a position. So if we “lose” an argument, we feel that we have somehow been diminished. Socrates tried over and over to help his interlocutors see things another way — he would always insist that it was the argument that was in question, not the person holding the argument. And he would insist that he would welcome correction, because then he would become better. I try my best to live up to his standard, but all too often I fail. It’s still worth the effort.

If it wasn’t for conspiricy theories people like Oliver Stone and Michael Moore would be unemployed!
